ED-REAP, Fistula Fund, Maternal Health Fund, Global perm NW, and Footsteps to Healing which are Ayder hospital partners contributed $115,000 towards securing much-needed funds for medical equipment for Tigray.

On April 23rd, 2021, ED-REAP co-sponsored a campaign “WE ARE THE WORLD” in an effort to stop another famine on the 36th anniversary of the release of the ” We Are The World” album. Discussions were held in Club House where stories on #TigrayGenocide were shared and many people from across the world attended this event.

A visit to Ethiopia including planting a tree at AKU with CEO of the College of Health Sciences, donating funds to a medical college student at St Paul Medical College, meeting with Bokri founders and MoH to discuss EHR!
ED-REAP Presenting on Digitizing Patient Data at P2P in Arlington, VA
ED-REAP was invited to present at the GTSC in July 2018. Professors Gebregzibher, Berhane, and Abraham participated in the conference.
Prof Gebregziabher presented on two sessions – a session on health services and research and a session on partnerships between Diaspora professionals and local institutions. Prof Berhane also presented on the health services and research session. Dr. Abraham presented on STEM education.

ED-REAP, in compliance with its vision, mission, and objectives, has established The ED-REAP Excellence Award Program to recognize highly qualified student(s) graduating from undergraduate degree programs of Ethiopian Universities and Colleges.
ED-REAP gave a presentation on a proposal for an Ethiopian VCL(March 26, 2013 )
Dr Henry Schaffer (NCSU) together with Drs Solomon (NCCU) and Mulugeta (MUSC) and Tsegga (IBM) gave a presentation on a proposal for an Ethiopian VCL – virtual computing lab to a group of experts in this technology that meet online. The long term goal of this project lead by Dr Schaffer is to create an Ethiopian VCL. This is a great effort that would help higher learning institutions to have access to much needed academic and research resources.
